> Too expensive for production features in client systems. OpenAI models give better cost per intelligence.

To be clear: Claude Code is my main development tool. This verdict is only about paying per token inside client products.

## Don't use it when

- High-volume features in client systems, where cost per intelligence decides.

## Provisioning

No provider · No Terraform provider

## Use instead

OpenRouter, picking the model by cost per intelligence.

## Alternatives

## Where it fits

- [An AI chat or LLM feature](https://cloudlesslabs.com/stack/use-cases/ai-chat.md): don't. Not for high-volume features in client products: cost per intelligence decides there, and OpenAI models through OpenRouter win it. (Claude Code stays my main development tool.)
