# Admin panels and analysis that made a company's data readable

## The situation

A company can own a mountain of data and still not understand itself. Staff were working around the systems: exporting spreadsheets, asking an engineer to run a query, keeping their own version of the numbers. Processes had grown by accretion, each step added for a reason nobody remembered.

## What I did

I started with business analysis, not code. I mapped how the processes actually ran, talked to the people running them, and found where time and effort were lost. Some steps disappeared entirely. Only then did I build: internal admin panels that put the company's data, devices and customers in front of the people who need them, so they can answer their own questions and act on them.

Much of this was data science: collecting the data scattered across systems, wrangling it into a consistent shape, and pulling out the insights that change decisions.

## Why it matters to you

Internal tools are rarely glamorous, and they're often where the biggest return is. A good admin panel replaces dozens of interruptions a week, and an honest process analysis can save more than any software. The skill is in understanding the business well enough to know what to build, and what to remove.
